Social Security is a system of provisions of course so that when you are elderly or disabled, you are compensated for your just experiences in the work place which have come to a fruitful end for your future.
We offer to this fund a "STAGING" which is really not a 'contribution'.
This is not a charity benefit and there is no real contribution.
What you put in Social Security is a staging for your future needs.
The idea of staging is that what you are replacing in the fund will be to ensure the safety of others so that when your safety is in need, your staging will have allowed you to be 'in the system' and thus at your time of need, the idea of a social security income will be allowed, regardless of your total spending on social security needs at the time of your employed lifespan.
Think about this when you criticize the very system that keeps the society in which we enjoy our freedoms free.

Social Security is an imperfect system that requires attention and improvement. To imply that it is a 'ponzi' scheme is to defraud the society of a rightful enterprise which does in fact return many people's staging with a benefit at the appropriate time. As of today, it is continuing to make positive returns, though I will suggest to you that they are awful tight for everyone who is on that payment. In fact, it might benefit America in the future to contribute more to Social security to perfect and ensure it works effectively at all times in the future.
Thanks for the reply.

Dear Mr. Garvin,
Thank you for a meaningless inscription into the delights of space warfare in an era of happy go lucky human acheivement such as the useful social security system.
I am glad that American innovation is throwaway and less commonplace that paying tribute to the Wright Brothers.
Your article is the first I have ever read in a major newspaper that is adamantly anti social and to the point of divisive funtime ridicule of even the qualified (some CIA 'kid').
I am sure that the only ponzi sceheme in our national voice is your own inoportune ponzi scheme with your own integrity.
And no, the space planes are not coming for me.

Note: I did not think that the Miami Herald was any particular political leaning, but judging by the rhetoric of this fellow, is it clearly not a liberal minded paper, at least not in his column.

from Glenn Garvin:
Social Security is a textbook Ponzi scheme. Most recipients believe that they are being paid a return on investments made with their "contributions." In fact, the money comes from new "contributions." As the ratio of new contributors to recipients declines, the finances of the system grow shaky. (Plus the pool of recipients is growing at a much faster rate than anybody anticipated back in the 1930s because of increased life expectancy.) When the entire Baby Boom population has recipient status, around 2009, Social Security will be in profound trouble. You may regard Social Security as "useful," but that doesn't make it any more financially stable.

Paying for spilled Gold
Republicans are here today voting soon to elevate the student loan repayment rate from 3.4% to the previous high of 6.8% in congress.
The issue is that we have too much national debt and that it would help balance the budget.
There is no provision for increasing the tax rate among the highly paid and rich citizens vice versa.
What this sets up is a system by which we are paying for "spilled gold".
The gold that is used to keep our students becoming the more affluent Americans by means of education is gold that is best used to keep our nation at an advantage by improving the social and intellectual level of our society.
Those who have high paying jobs are already at the level mostly of those who are educated or have had all the advantages given to them.
In turn, there is less of a constrain on the need for a man or woman to pursue an education today in light of the high interest rate that most all need to pay for that education. Though I suspect it will be unlikely, this might marginally effect the idea of whether some people pursue an education that is likely to set one back not only his loan payment but $4000 to even more than $10,000 in lifetime interest payments.
In effect, we are paying for spilled gold that is spilled from the coffers of the rich to help the poor pay their own way to a coffer of their own.
If you want to improve society, let the young become educated so that many can pursue their own employment and improvement of their own coffers so that thus there is a light at the end of the tunnel and that all who are called to claim a role in society can do so at the least limited experience of their own pocket.
The uber rich today seem to want to put the payment of our debts off on the hands of the less endowed and the less involved member of society.
And that in effect a horrorshow of the GOP.

Above is a Very Pertinent Article written by Benjamin Netanyahu. Worth the read.
As of the reply I wrote:
Burning desires to be a sacrosanct nation endure in our midst and voices like Shalom Asch are all over the internet today. The cries of pain today are related to the outrages of the unjust and the impropriety striken voices of the casual impertinent right wing agendas today that bask in their own ideals yet walk on the infirmities of the righteous and orthodox. I do not like to see all the anti-Obama comments and think that our nations will continue to prosper in the democracy of Truly Forthrighted Elected Officials, wheter on the right or on the left.
But mark my words, Israel is the crucial deal that can not be missed. If we need to go to a bombing campaign and more against the most treacherous ally, Those who hold high office and seek to perform for the betterment of humanity will prevail.

Well, kids, its going to be war out there. Obama's Dog recipes versus Romney's Dog Cages.
Either way, its a crazy world.
Obama might win this one though, I think that dogs taste better sauted rather than cooked on the roof.

Why I am skeptical of Union Primacy
I am not one to completely ignore the causes of the interests today that are opposed to my political party's goals.
One is the primacy of union politics. I am a Jew who has been an American for the 4th generation in my family.
I am one who was taken out of bondage to be free.
When I got to my job in Florida, I was told I had to join a union.
Now if I had pursued work that always required a union, I would have conceded that a Union is the way for me and my interests are clearly served by being in a union.
This is not the case in Medicine.
The residents and interns in Florida were governed by a Union named the Council of Interns and Residents, CIR.
I did not wish to join but it was a mandate and of course, I submitted my dues and participated.
I was not happy that there were tensions in the program due to union politics.
I was also not happy that I was only in a program for 3 years and need collective bargaining to be mandated to establish my own needs in a short period of time where most programs around the nation need no union politics and usefulness. I just do not see that a short career requires collective bargaining. Afterall, there are universal laws requiring our work hours today, the issues with resident pay are still not the biggest contention and overall, I am one to think that medical professionals are professionals and can cooperate at different levels of administration.
I was forced to join the union and I am at this day very reluctant to support a total Union Rights environment.
I am well to concede that we need unions in many of our work places.
I am not one to believe that they should be manditory for every citizen.

What I said about Ted Nugent
“Ted Nugent is more like a zebra with a hat on it at the sex convicts parade.”
What this means for those who do not get allusion:
He is a zebra because he stands out for his rock and roll skills. His hat is because he doesn't want to be solely known only for his rock and roll and wants to be really known for his politics. The sex convicts he is in a parade with are just ignorant people who do wrong and are there to disturb humanity and he fits in well.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/04/17/ted-nugent-obama-remarks_n_1432988.html
I am a second rate citizen because I have the admiration of his own musical talent to have a CD of his in my collection. His music is ok. Not bad actually, but it is not a good enough talent and enjoyment to listen to more than once or twice a year or so.

Why cutting Military Spending is not a broken arrow
Military spending is the largest of many of the American Tax payer's expenses.
This is not an era where there are existential threats against the soil and welfare of America and the work of a lone rogue can not be prevented by the largest of the largest military forces.
In this day and age where Americans are trying to be more honorable and humane and seek to be healthy citizens with a rightful life that allows Truth and Prosperity and the American Dream, There is a need to replay the old ways of thinking and revise our plans.
The fact is that the Military reports today that it wants to keep readiness to fight 1 and 1/2 major warfare acticities over a prolonged service today. I see no problem keeping this level of readiness.
The need for more new and sophisticated weaponry needs to be tempered against the need to be an orderly and carefully planned society today. In reality the needs of the future are weighed against the troubles of the common man too.
So let us not refresh our humanity with more and more bombs and more and more professionally employed forces and let us rehash tomorrow with the confidence that America will never be threatened on its shores by another army today and that in any event that America needs to be employed in increased world wide warfare exceeding the 1 and 1/2 wars at a time worry, that America is a great enough nation that can MOBILIZE and protect its way of life in any era of any time period to be seen.
We mobilized very fast for World War 2 and this is a more and more modern society.
We will always have the resources when we need them and number of armed forces can be increased in a quick wise fashion to meed the arrogant demands of threatening ideologies and forces worldwide.
Cut military spending and help our Nation exist as a peaceful nation in harmony that does not try to make other nations wish to compete and emulate our unprecidented spending.

My letter to Dick Cheney
Dear Former Vice President Dick Cheney:
America does well when its constituencies plan for the future.
I am really unflattered by your usual and repeativitive commentaries about how the advanced interrogation teqhniques were the key ingredient that solved the needs of our interogation techniques in the era where Terror was new and ever present in the middle east.
Americans today as you are clearly aware are no longer supporting this way of interrogation and you should be more concerned with our future than you are in the need to justify your own previous agenda.
The fact is this Mr. Cheneny: You are part of the fall and not present today as part of the challenge.
I suggest that your day would be served well if you discussed that America understands that there was a difficult era where we were threatened by threats yet unknown to us and that the advanced interrogation was the procedure that we convened at that time to fight Terror and do the best we could muster to prevent future threats in the manner that you did not think would be a crime to your own agenda.
It is clear that torture is a crime againat humanity and I would suggest to you that while you may have saved a few thousand blood cells of the Western World's collective existence overall, you did not prevent the destruction of any major artery overall and in light of this, you need to ascertain that American Citizens and others who lead this nation have a right to disavow the usefulness of a technique that must be completely absolved from our armamentum if we are to indeed esteem to be regarded as an above the violent means as a Nation who enjoys freedom, protects freedoms of even the captive's right to exist in a standard unthreatened and unmolested existence as far as the Geneva Convention guidelines are considered.
Be a part of the challenge and not a part of the fall.

Cigar Rights
http://www.cigarrights.org/
Call it the NRA for cigar smokers,
This is a useful organization.
I just joined tonight for the first time. Hoping to get my 2 nice free cigars and have more opportunity to keep the cigar legislation from harming our interests and freedoms.
This is a horrible situation in our society today. Cigars are being taxed more and more and more and yet there is more stringencies on cigar availablity and smoking locations.
What is more harmful to your health? A drinking habit or a cigar enjoyment?
This society we live in puts drinking establishments on every corner of the street yet it limits who and where cigars and pipes can be smoked.
There is more fatality per capita from a alcohol related driving incident or violence than there is from burning your thumb with a cigar.
Something tells me that in our nicotine demonizing society, there has been a major overhaul and reflection on ignorance and inhumanity in that the very usefulness of a G-d given plant is being demonized largely due to the negative effects and presence of cigarette smoking which is a fad that belies the very dissatisfaction in moral and social fiber.
I must say that there should be more promotion of cigar and pipe smoking, especially in the cigarette smoking population.
Where are we missing the point that inhalation tobacco and cigarette should be stifled and demanded to be curtailed and thus if you can substitute another poison for the deadlier one, why are we not promoting this issue in our society?

Why are we tolerating Naziism?
If America went to war against the Nazis in World War 2 and these people are the same people. As they say they are... Then doesn't it necessarilly mean that it is still a war and that anyone who is a Nazi should be put in jail? I think so and if they want to be a party, let them rot in jail. I think that is constitutional. America never made peace with Nazis.

While you were sleeping...
I must discuss that my own philosophy today is one of humanitarian selectivity. Doing what we do for humanitarian gain.
Overall the climate today is of selective rationing. Do what you can do for those who own it and the best you can for the rest.
Overall, I am certain that my ideas are going to fall short in a climate of anti-priority and anti-goodwill towards the general public when there is a bigger role for those who have the highest of proportions of the economy in their own candle yard of rights and wants.
But of course, this is today.
Who knows where the future is headed. I am sure it is not headed back towards something like Karl Marx's reasoning so be tight and wait. Like they say on television today, it gets better.

China
Today, the chinese tout that they will be ahead of America in every way in 20 years.
I say this.
If China wants to surpass America, they have a simple way to get there.
Better Health Care.

Professional education lacks assurances
I must suggest that in my own personal career, there is a lack of oversight and a lack of priorities for those who are later disqualified from ensuring our health and other professional needs from being kept in full or partial professional roles in the case of an incapacity or health issue.
The fact is that in the medical world, we as physicians apply for licensure and go through residency programs or possibly it is clearly our hope that we will all become full fledged physicians.
Sometimes there are difficulties in the educational process by which a physician or otherwise worthy candidate can not continue with ones chosen aspirations upon the matriculation to professional education.
Today there is a lapse in the job security abbreviation in that noone who is considered impaired or otherwise disqualified perhaps for less than perfect performance on an examination or other type of professional qualification process is allowed to continue in any sense in the entire field or scope of a medical or other professional experience.
This in turn castigates and has the potential to remove valued employees from the occupational work system.
In reality, we need programs and provisions so that if someone either becomes impaired or reaches the limits of ones own growth in a very long process by which the ultimate goal is to be a fully licensed or fully adept capable contributing professional, there is still another avenue for that individual to make positive contributions.
It should not be a society where by the best and brightest of our children are disqualified from any further service to the community and professions when there is an illness or a situation that can not be completely absolved at the level of full commitment to a profession or other scholastic/work related endeavor.

Self Reporting of Psychological Problems
The next focus of Public Policy should be the focus on becoming a more truncated society in the way that we address and accept the ongoing inexactment of psychological distress and issues among our professional population.
In truth, there is a tendency of any professional today to not report or inform someone if they are under undue psychological distress.
Today this is evident in the pilot who was interred and hospitalized on the Jet Blue airline which was interrupted in flight due to his 'psychotic' out break in the cockpit.
I would think that if there is more mental health awareness and an increased amount of vigilance in the personal conduct of persons in terms of their own pensive and interrupted overall mental health, that perhaps we can have safer and more well experiences in all of our service and other industries.
There should be incentives for self reporting psychological impairments and no penalties for which we are avoiding a major catastrophe in order to allow someone either some time off or if absolutely necessary, a transition into permanent disability.
The issue is that today there are too many negative consequences therefore socially, professionally and of course financially for any person to report that his or her health is not up to par emotionally or professionally or otherwise mentally in all of our professional fields today.
This must be challenged and we must submit ourselves to a future whereby our safety can be ensured by the total arrangement of the individual reflecting upon what time it is to Stop what he or she is doing and not push oneself to a difficulty which will continue to snowball further down hill.
This would be good for mental health.
This would negate some of the stigma of psychological stressors and challenges.
This should even potentially be rewarded with other assurances of a positive future whether in some other functional role in society or otherwise in a financial positive outcome for those who self report.
Lets keep incapacitated professionals out of the work place and keep out work place safe and also ensure that our citizens are not faced with indefinate loss in the event that their physical and mental make up at some time does not completely meet the full expectations of the job at hand.

Leave Grades in Grade School
I suggest that the ABC grade system be kept in grade school. At the early age, an A grade is a reinforcement. There is no reason to stigmatize the children with a Grade Point average and of course, they never had one until they got to high school.
The beginning of high school is the beginning of grade point average stratefication of students.
Why not get them in their respective tracks and let them flourish instead?
Leave Grades for Grade school.
Do pass fail after 9th grade and on.

Why we are cheating our children
In follow up to the previous post, I assert that a criminally insanely cheat encouraging system of the ABCD F school system promotes the most negative attributes in our children.
The children who get the Straight A's become conceited.
The children who are getting C's and B's only get discouraged.
This is a bad system.
The fact that we induce children to be regimented and segregated induces anxiety and even paranoia in the children.
We are harming our children and we are harming the future.
The idea that a child can be segregated might be a good reason for a child to perhaps apply his or her talents at cheating.
This is a problem and I suggest that the epidemics of lacking academic integrity and cheating that occur in our undergraduate institutions as well as at the high school level are actually a by product of a system that is cheating our children.

Mission Education
Are we building minds or just seeing who doesn't make the cut?
I reply that the idea of a grade based educational system is quite antiquated.
The goal is to build a man and a woman into an esteemed leader and scholar.
Does applying a grade card involve us in the fruitation of the betterment of mankind or does it just segregate us into categories of acheivers verses the rest?
In all, do colleges really need your GPA to say whether you could do a challenging curriculum?
Do the colleges need to apply a grade system to their students?
I did go to medical school which to me is more advanced in many ways than the rest of the curriculums in this planets educational systems.
We had Pass Fail. And honors if you were so guilded.
What is wrong with this all across the board?
This is the problem with education today:
We stigmatize our students with C grades, we belittle them with B grades and of course we denigrate them completely with a D.
Give an Failing grade to those who are completely abhorrent of the educational process. Get them on another track or get them well again.
But lets fail to completely destroy the children's futures today by segregating them with grade cards.
This is a 1950s approach to learning and we are still doing it 60 years later.
